Re-Powering of Thunder Bay Generating Station
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association support the re-powering of the Thunder Bay Generating Station as a natural gas fuelled facility and urge the Province of Ontario to direct the Ontario Power Authority to negotiate an Energy Supply Agreement for the re-powered Station with Ontario Power Generation (OPG);
AND FURTHER THAT Ontario Power Generation complete the re-powering of the Station as quickly as possible to meet the 2014 deadline;
AND FURTHER THAT the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association provide a submission in support of the natural gas re-powering of the Thunder Bay Generating Station on the Environmental Bill of Rights at such time as the application for amendment to the site Certificate of Approval is posted.
