Encouraging Brownfield Redevelopment
That the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association supports the Ontario Real Estate Association recommendation that the Provincial government amend Ontario Regulation 282/98 of the Assessment Act by adding a new tax class for brownfield properties that are “under remediation” and that brownfields that are classified as “under remediation” should pay tax rates at the same level as agricultural lands or greenfields
